Insulating Varnish Excel Coat AD
An Airdrying varnish with high moisture and tracking resistance
Excel Coat AD is a modified phenolic resin-based airdrying insulating varnish of Temperature Index 120 (Thermal Class E). When fully cured, this varnish exhibits good Di-Electric properties and excellent resistance to tracking, mild acids, alkalis, and hot transformer oil. It also has good electrical properties even in humid conditions for long period.
FIELD OF APPLICATION:
- Excel Coat AD is suitable for application as a finishing varnish for electrical components and windings. It can be used for machined surfaces of synthetic resin bonded phenolic laminates, phenolic moldings, printed circuit boards, etc. It is suggested for coating transformer tanks due to very good resistance of cured varnish film to hot transformer oil. It is suitable for coating stampings stacks.
- Excel Coat AD is suggested for the impregnation of ceiling and table fan stators. A short baking cycle of 2-3 hr at 110°C - 120°C can be employed.
- Excel Coat AD is also suitable for impregnation cum finishing of stator windings of standard small motors during repairs and rewinding.
- Excel Coat AD can be applied by dipping, brushing, or spraying methods.
